Would it be possible for me to acess their Book keeping/Accounts?

Its for A Level ICT , and i need to present the accounts of a sole-trading business What the chances do you think? Dont say ask, as im going to go, Just want your take

1. You can try if they're in a public place that you can look at them. Most companies tend to keep their accounting private. I know my company does. There is no way you could access our accounting system from the outside. Good luck though.
2. As far as i am aware, all accounts have to be file (?with registrar of companies). Try that, and good luck
3. Only the accounts of limited companies are publically available. Sole traders are private businesses, so you would have to ask very nicely!
4. I doubt it to be honest, accounts as you would imagine are extremely sensitive to businesses. You could anonymize the data, but then you would still see it and they aren't likely to be happy with that. You`d be better off asking someone who knows and trusts you, and they may say yes. However, are you sure that you have to present real data? Its an obvious problem and I can't see that the examining board would expect everyone to present real live accounts due to the privacy issue. For many people it would not be possible! Surely you could present example data thats made up, but realistic? I would go back to your tutor and explain the problem and see what they have to say. Alternatively, you could always make the data up, and say that it was supplied on the condition it was anonymous. Read some business books or search on the net and i`m sure you could find some examples you could use and modify.
