New Port Beach Business Daily

Where is a good place to stay the night before my cruise leaves from the Long Beach, CA port?

I need an inexpensive (but not disgusting) place to stay for the night since I don't want to risk leaving AZ the morning of the cruise. It needs to be in a safe place and please don't tell me to look at Orbitz! Please answer if you have stayed in a hotel in the LB area before your carnival cruise left or if you live in Long Beach area! It doesn't necessarily need to be in Long Beach, but then again I don't want to deal with the traffic in order to get to the port on time! Thanks!!

1. I would suggest the Holiday Inn on Gaffey Street in San Pedro. My company used to put me up there when I had to travel to that area for business before I got transferred here. It's a basic hotel, but it's very close to the port.
2. I think the Queen Mary hotel is actually on a port on Long Beach
3. I stayed at the Queen Mary for $129 it was a beautiful room. Other people on the cruise stayed at the Comfort Inn, Marriott. Contact the cruise line and sometimes they can even get you a better deal with free shuttle service to the embarkation area. Have a really good time and have fun.
